ELKRIDGE, Md., June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global performance improvement solutions provider GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), is pleased to announce the release of a newly developed online simulator application available through its GPiLEARN™ training platform, which includes over 1,600 web-based courses for the power plant workforce.
Developed in partnership with Western Services Corporation (WSC), the new simulator platform is an online simulation training tool consisting of 30 individual lessons specifically designed for combined cycle control room operators. Combining the GPiLEARN web-based portal with WSC's 3KEYMASTER simulation platform and Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) provides the trainee with an unprecedented integrated learning environment.
"Simulator training has proven to be a very effective method for teaching power plant operations, as well as qualifying operators," said Bill Green, Director of the Workforce Development Business for the Energy Services Group. "GP Strategies has been helping power companies find solutions to workforce qualification issues for over 40 years and is an industry leader in technical online training for power plants. Simulator systems are the natural progression to offering a complete line of learning services to the power generation industry."
GP Strategies will be previewing the GPiLEARN Online Simulator at the Western Utility Training and Advisory Board (WUTAB) Conference in Sedona, AZ on June 19 and 20, 2012.
