FAIRFAX, Va., Sept. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- At a time when our country is grappling with huge challenges including response to natural disasters, the opioid crisis, questions about the security of our elections, and modernization of legacy systems to enhance government services, ACT-IAC is hosting an event that brings together the best minds in government and industry to address these transformational issues.
The event is Imagine Nation – ELC 2018 from October 14-17, 2018 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.
In addition to Agency CXO's who are focused on meeting the needs of the business, attendees at this year's event will include program managers who use technology, the IT specialists who manage it, the acquisition professionals who buy it, the financial managers who fund it, the human capital experts who staff it, the security experts who protect it, and the policy officials who govern it. There will be representatives from all levels of government and several hundred companies serving the government market.
The program will focus on the most important issues – IT modernization, cybersecurity, acquisition, human capital, emerging technologies, customer experience and healthcare – in the context of real world issues.
Highlights of Imagine Nation – ELC 2018 include the following:
- Government leaders including GSA Administrator Emily Murphy, OMB Deputy Director for Management Margaret Weichert, U.S. Chief Information Officer Suzette Kent, and Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Dana Deasy will be on hand to discuss the President's Management Agenda and key policy initiatives. In addition, USDA Deputy Secretary Stephen Censky will share perspective on USDA Centers of Excellence progress.
- Thought leaders Jack Uldrich (global futurist) and Anne Marie Slaughter (foreign policy expert and CEO, New America) will challenge attendees to think outside the box.
- Four program tracks will focus on the hottest topics – "Modernizing for Mission Success"; "Enterprise Resilience – Moving to the Edge"; "Business Innovation – Embracing the Digital Revolution" and "Empowering the Workforce in the Digital Age."
- A Technology Showcase with 60 leading companies and government organizations that includes Center Stage for compelling TED Talk®-like presentations on cybersecurity, emerging technology and healthcare from industry and government thought-leaders; TechKnow Showcase to inspire innovative thinking, revealing how tomorrow's technologies are taking shape today to advance government's mission; Partner Pavilion to showcase the exciting ways that solutions, services and technology are being used by government clients.
- A dedicated training day (Sunday) with courses on topics ranging from design thinking for agile problem solving to an introduction to cyberwarfare to a deep dive into NASA SEWP.
- There's also an opportunity to obtain up to 28 Continuous Learning Points (CLPs).
Unlike traditional conferences, Imagine Nation – ELC 2018 will provide an integrated environment in which every activity is a key part of the whole fabric. This unique environment will enhance the ability of attendees to learn, communicate and collaborate. There will also be exceptional networking opportunities to renew old acquaintances and forge new relationships.
IAC Chair Richard Spires stated, "As Chief Information Officer of the Department of Homeland Security, I always considered ELC as the one event I had to attend each year. The quality of the content, the value of the conversations and the knowledge (and passion) of the attendees could not be found anywhere else. I urge everyone who believes we – government and industry – can do a better job in creating a more effective and innovative government, to attend this new and exciting event."
Imagine Nation – Educate, Lead and Collaborate
Since 1990, Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) has been the annual destination for leaders of the government technology community to learn, share ideas, and collaborate on new solutions and strategies.
