With a visit to GolfNow.com, golfers of all interests and abilities can find more information about Let's Play Golf, as well as a list of participating golf courses in their area. Golf Channel's Morning Drive will serve as the event's on-air hub, with special guests and in-show content featured on each of the themed days throughout the week. Co-hosts Matt Ginella, Lauren Thompson and Bailey Mosier also will report live from select golf courses that are engaging golfers participating in Let's Play Golf week's progressive events.
"As golf courses and golfers celebrate the game this spring during Let's Play Golf week, Golf Channel will capture stories that showcase areas of growth and opportunities where the golf industry is making strides to further engage with fans of the game," said Kevin Schultz, senior director of lifestyle content, Golf Channel. "With the start of the professional championship season each spring, the broader world of sports is drawn toward golf and this nationwide celebration inviting a wide spectrum of golfers to tee it up springboards us toward the next marquee event, The Players, the following week."
"With the golf season now in full swing, golfers everywhere are anxious to dust off their clubs and get out and play," said Jeff Foster, senior vice president, GolfNow. "Let's Play Golf week provides the perfect opportunity while helping to grow the game. Golfers get to try something designed just for them, and golf courses are offered a way attract new golfers and provide their existing customers with a different experience."
Each of the five days of Let's Play Golf is themed toward specific interests, beginning on Monday, May 1, with the World's Largest Golf Outing, a simultaneous golf outing to be played at more than 148 courses across North America. Golf Channel and GolfNow this year have joined forces with Billy Casper Golf, which founded the event in 2011. The World's Largest Golf Outing is the largest, one-day celebration of golf and charity – benefiting Fisher House Foundation and Arnie's Army Charitable Foundation – and is open to all golfers regardless of ability. The World's Largest Golf Outing is emblematic of golf's significant charitable impact on communities across the country, as part of the golf industry's efforts to raise nearly $4 billion in charitable funds annually.
