"Globalize your Outreach" seminar discusses the benefits and opportunities of ADRs and OTCQX trading
The seminar, which will take place on December 11 in Sao Paulo, unites specialists to discuss opportunities and requirements for entering the international market
NEW YORK, Dec. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Maximizing visibility with international investors will be one of the main challenges for publicly-held companies in 2013. It is becoming increasingly necessary for companies intending to enter the international market to improve their liquidity and exposure and build a global reputation. The various paths, benefits and requirements arising from this process, through the establishment of ADRs (American Depositary Receipts) will be the theme of the event organized by MZ Group, BNY Mellon, OTC Markets Group and White & Case. The event will be held on December 11 in Sao Paulo.
"Globalize your Outreach" will feature several expert speakers, including Andrew Kyzyk, Executive Director and Head of OTCQX International, Maria Claudia Biolchini, Senior Relationship Manager at BNY Mellon, and John Mattio, Senior Vice President of MZ North America, as well as White & Case Partner John Vetterli, who specializes in capital markets. They will speak about the value of Bank of New York ADRs, the OTCQX as the trading platform, and the legal and regulatory requirements of the U.S. over-the-counter market. According to Rodrigo Alves, CEO of MZ Group, the purpose of the seminar is to present this process as an alternative for those seeking to enter the U.S. market more rapidly and with lower costs.
"The U.S. over-the-counter market is an attractive alternative for companies seeking to build a reputation abroad and increase their liquidity, in addition to establishing a relationship with the depositary bank. One advantage is that companies haves access to a larger pool of investors in this market, compared to just a listing on the Bovespa. Our intention is to demystify this process and encourage companies to pursue an establishment of an ADR on the OTCQX as an option," explained Rodrigo Alves.
"Companies that use ADRs and the OTCQX to gain more access to investors undertake to ensure exemplary disclosure of their financial information and to trade with the utmost transparency in order to boost liquidity," said MZ North America's John Mattio. "Investors are usually attracted to companies that follow clear quantitative standards and disclose their documents to the international market with the highest standards of quality. By combining ADRs and the OTCQX, companies can have access to U.S. and global investors without the additional regulatory costs involved in listing on a conventional U.S. stock exchange. It can be a long-term solution for the company's needs or the first step towards listing on the NYSE, AMEX or NASDAQ," he declared.
