Gingrich to Sign on to Strong America Now Plan to Cut Spending
HUDSON, N.H., June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Wednesday, presidential hopeful, Newt Gingrich, will sign grassroots organization Strong America Now's pledge that promises to tackle the debt and deficit by applying a waste-elimination process to the federal government if elected as president.
"Our national debt is quickly approaching $15 trillion, and it is time we start looking at proven solutions," said Gingrich. "Waste is running rampant in our government and Strong America Now's plan will get the country well on its way to a balanced budget in a way which has broad support."
Strong America Now's plan calls for every department, agency, and program in the federal government to go through the waste elimination process known as Lean Six Sigma, which has a proven record of success in numerous Fortune 500 companies, the United States Army, Naval Aviation, and countless municipalities across the country. Among Lean Six Sigma success stories is C & M Machine Products, a factory in Hudson, New Hampshire where Gingrich will officially sign the pledge.
"We don't just want to make changes for the sake of change, we want a proven plan and that is Lean Six Sigma," said Gingrich. "Our goal is not just more limited government and reduced spending. Our goal is to get people in government to think differently about how they spend taxpayer funds."
Gingrich is one candidate who has committed to sign the Strong America Now pledge leading up to the group's deficit protest and information event "Deficit Free America Summit" on June 18th in Des Moines, Iowa. Presidential candidates, the media, politicians, and all Americans, including the group's 14,000 members are encouraged to attend the event.
