Growing up in a logging family, Gia was exposed to ecology, forestry, logging, and other environmental aspects at an early age. Her father is her greatest inspiration, and she learned everything she knows from him. The fourth generation of her family to work with wood, Gia started the business in 1996 and she has spent the past twenty eight years operating heavy mechanical equipment and working closely with mechanical welding, portable saw mills, and recycled old growth redwood. She has also worked with black oak, cypress, pepperwood, black walnut, and eucalyptus.

Moreover, Gia is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and volunteers for her local fire department and is an emergency medical technician. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, and her favorite vacation destination is taking cruises to the Caribbean.
