With thoughts of long hot days and evening parties poolside, EcoTools Beauty Team members Teni Panosian and Christine Symonds created a bronzed, glowing makeup look and breezy chic hair with a twist to top off the look. Makeup expert Panosian is a professional beauty blogger, YouTube beauty sensation and the voice behind MissMaven.com. Celebrity hairstylist Symonds regularly styles red carpet beauties such as Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Kristen Bell, Anna Faris, Ali Larter and more.
Summer Glow Makeup
Panosian developed this naturally radiant look using a variety of EcoTools products, and focused on playing up color with the new EcoTools Angled Kabuki Brush, which can be used in a variety of ways to highlight, bronze, sculpt and more. The EcoTools Angled Kabuki Brush retails for $9.99.
"The Angled Kabuki Brush is EcoTools' largest and softest brush in the collection and is perfect for creating the natural effect of tan, highlighted skin," says Panosian. "Whether you've been in the office all day or catching waves by the shore, try this fresh makeup application that will take you from day to night."
Start by applying SPF cream and then apply a lightweight foundation using the EcoTools Stippling Brush. The duo-fiber bristles of this brush are meant to build sheer coverage. Apply your favorite concealer under your eyes and any other trouble spots, and then go back in with the Stippling Brush to blend it all out for a seamless, natural finish.
To create that sun-kissed glow, dip the EcoTools Angled Kabuki Brush into a bronzer with a bit of shimmer for an extra radiant look. Begin applying around the hairline, sculpting the cheeks, and finish with an all-over swipe to distribute a nice even color. The large, angled head of the brush allows for a quick and natural application. Try using it to apply bronzer on the neck, decolletage and shoulders for an all over body glow. Next up, grab the EcoTools Tapered Blush Brush and apply a bright peach blush to the apples of the cheeks, being sure to blend with the bronzer.
For the eyes, all you'll need is the EcoTools Eye Enhancing Duo Set. First, take the flat bristled side and dip into the same bronzer that was used on the face. Apply this color all over the lids, from lash line to crease. Next, taking the fluffy blending side, apply a matte dark brown shadow to just the outer corners of the eyes, giving the look a little more dimension. To add just a bit more definition, take the angled liner side and apply a bit of black gel eyeliner to the lash line just to darken it up slightly. Finally, frame the eyes with one or two coats of your favorite mascara.
Finish off the look with a sheer, peachy nude lip gloss for a light pop of color.
Playful Summer Twist
"Summer should be about easy-breezy hair," says Symonds. "I love working with braids, but there are so many intricate versions out there that it is nice to get back to basics. This playful twist look is super easy and works on almost all lengths and textures." The look was created using the line of EcoTools hair brushes, which feature six styles to suit every hair type and need. EcoTools hair brushes retail for $10.99.
Begin by blowing out hair with the EcoTools Full Volume Styler, a rounded, vented brush that dries hair 20 percent faster and gives great body and movement. Grab a three inch section of hair by one side of the part and split it in two. Twist the two sections around each other tightly until you reach the ends and secure with a hair tie. Once the twist is released, it will loosen but shouldn't unwind completely. Grab another three inch section next to the first twist and create another twist and secure with a hair tie. Repeat on the other side of the part and create two twists again.
Lift the crown of your hair and back-comb lightly underneath with the gentle and effective, vented EcoTools Smoothing Detangler Brush. This will create a soft back-comb so the bobby pins have texture to grip to. One by one, place the twist in the back of the head and secure with bobby pins. Overlap the sections to create a more finished look. Remove the hair ties. Pull out any front pieces if desired.
