Genesis Media Introduces Page Attention Rank™ (P-A-R™): The First Effective Real-Time Measurement of Consumer Attention Online
Patented Attention KPI Scores Web Content Quality to Give Advertisers Access to AttentiveAudiences in Real-Time and Help Publishers Qualify and Prioritize Their Most Engaging Content
NEW YORK, May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Genesis Media, creator of the industry's first attention platform, today announced the launch of Page Attention Rank™ (P-A-R™), its newly patented analytics solution that scores webpage content quality in real-time while measuring consumer attention. This new KPI presents advertisers and publishers with an opportunity to gain deep insight into their audiences' attention online and what content actually drives the most engagement, providing full transparency into the quality of their investments.
"General analytics and technology are critical in helping us understand how consumers are engaging with our content," said AMI Chief Digital Officer Brian Kroski. "By providing an instant snapshot of actual attention versus general impressions, P-A-R™ introduces a new level of insight and intelligence that helps us optimize our content strategy and ensures that we're delivering top quality audiences to advertisers."
P-A-R™ calculates attention in real-time for each webpage and targets advertisements to pages that have the highest amount of user attention. The algorithm analyzes user motivation to access a particular page, combined with the amount of attention and engagement the page content generates, which translates into a Genesis Media P-A-R™ score. All P-A-R™ scores will be made available to advertisers programmatically, giving them the control and preference to serve an ad to more attentive traffic. For publishers, P-A-R™ provides insight into what pages have the highest quality traffic, which can change at any given moment – allowing them to optimize inventory for higher ranked pages in real-time.
During preliminary tests, P-A-R™ drove impressive results by targeting video ads to pages where the highest levels of attention were measured:
- Genesis saw a 4x retention rate on pages that have a high P-A-R™ versus a low PAR score.
- Pages with a high P-A-R™ score had a 92% retention rate versus pages with a low PAR score that had a 19% retention rate.
- Optimization using P-A-R™ increased completion rate on video ads by 18%.
"To date, the primary metric for assessing the value of content in the industry has simply been traffic, which is helpful but can be a bit misleading at times. For instance, a news article can gain millions of clicks, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's yielding the true attention of the consumer," said Mark Yackanich, CEO of Genesis Media. "With P-A-R™ we're introducing a much more dynamic approach to the impression by offering a new layer of intelligence that really shows motivation to engage. The solution quickly measures a mix of data points that illustrate actual attention, which is more valuable than a click and a glance. We're creating a new standard for the industry and we anticipate that publishers and advertisers alike will leverage P-A-R™ scoring to transparently speak to the value of premium inventory."
P-A-R™ stems from the Genesis Attention Platform™ (G-A-P™), the company's proprietary foundation that creates new out-stream video ad inventory within premium content, using data science to determine exactly when a viewer should be shown an ad based on their likeliness to engage.
