Predictive Analytics gives automotive manufacturers, associations and dealers deep insight into consumer purchasing intent
TORONTO, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ - Generation5, an Adenyo company, announced today the release of the 2011 Canadian Automotive Predictions, a comprehensive study that gives the automotive industry insight into buyer intent and composition for the upcoming year. Proprietary predictive analytics techniques are used to evaluate thousands of consumer attributes against surveyed purchase intent. Advanced mathematical models capture correlations between these attributes and predict automotive purchase propensity for each of the 830,000 postal codes across Canada.
Generation5 predicts that 11.1% of the twelve million driver households in Canada will buy or lease a vehicle in 2011. A further 15.8% of these households are considering a purchase. Generation5 also predicts automotive purchases will become polarized next year with purchases made at either end of the price scale, under $10,000 and over $40,000, expected to rise.
SUVs, Sports Coupe/Sedans and Crossovers are predicted to grow their share in Canada with all other vehicle types declining. The study also predicts that 13.4% of purchasers will buy Hybrid vehicles, with another 23.1% considering Hybrids. Interestingly, the study found that as buyer education levels increased, their likelihood of buying a Hybrid dramatically decreased.
