"Friend of Folly" Campaign Launched to Smooth Peak Season Experience
FOLLY BEACH, S.C., April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Weather is improving, kids are almost out of school, and it's time to relax. No better place to do that than Folly Beach, where miles of pristine beach and a funky beach town come together.
It's easy to understand why guests from the region and beyond pack up and head to the Edge of America in droves.
While seasons are nothing new, Folly's popularity has soared in recent years, making the much-needed "Friends of Folly" campaign even more welcome.
Crowds can cause problems for locals, law enforcement, and the environment. "No one wants conflict on their time off," said Robert Hart of FollyBeach.com. "We feel that running a public service announcement of sorts might help inform guests on how they can make the experience better for everyone."
A new campaign called "Friend of Folly", shares information, a mixture of laws not to break, and some general information to help make time on Folly Beach more enjoyable and less burdensome for Folly locals and officials.
So what's on the list? "We cover some of the basics like where to park, which is a major pain point for visitors, but we also cover the new plastic and Styrofoam ban as another example," Hart said. For those that are not aware, Folly Beach banned polystyrene coolers and single-use plastic bags last year. "We also review environmental issues visitors from other parts of the country might not know about."
The full list of "Friend of Folly" blogs can be found here with regular visitors receiving this information via newsletter and social media. "Content on this section of the site is free to be copied and republished by news outlets or we will certainly help craft something specific anyone needs," Hart said.
