LAKEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstBank, Colorado's second-largest bank by deposits, will be giving away limited-edition Never Summer snowboards to riders who locate one of 40 "orange cubes" hidden in the nooks and crannies of Copper Mountain.

FirstBank's "Capture the Cube" contest will launch on November 29 and run through April 13, 2014. Mountain-goers can receive hints on the location of the cubes by visiting www.capturethecube.com, as well as FirstBank's Facebook and Twitter pages. Individuals who find a FirstBank cube can redeem it at the Copper Mountain Village Center for their free Never Summer snowboard.
"As Colorado's largest locally-owned bank we share a passion for a ski and snowboard season," said John Ikard, CEO of FirstBank Holding Company. "The Capture the Cube promotion is our way of celebrating Colorado's outstanding winter sports culture while also reminding folks that it's still possible to receive something for free."
FirstBank partnered with Never Summer Industries, a renowned Colorado-based snowboard manufacturer, to create the limited-edition snowboard. The board, aptly nicknamed "The Creamsicle," features a 3D popsicle graphic set against a powder blue background, and utilizes Never Summer's patented R.C. (Rocker & Camber) technology for better edge-hold and stability.
"The new FirstBank board has a fun, eye-catching design, and because it includes our latest proprietary technology, it rides as good as it looks," said Mike Gagliardi, U.S. Sales Manager of Never Summer. "The board is perfect for a wide-range of riders — from beginners to seasoned powder-junkies. Whoever is lucky enough to find a FirstBank cube is going to love this board."
In addition to hints on www.capturethecube.com and FirstBank's social media channels, users can unlock additional clues via FirstBank's new "Cube Finder" app at www.compasshunt.com. As users share the app on their personal Facebook and Twitter channels, more information on the location of the cubes is revealed. Additionally, participants can document their search and monitor the progress of others by posting or searching for #FreeHappens on Facebook and Twitter.
The Capture the Cube promotion is part of FirstBank's larger "Free Happens" marketing campaign. Launched earlier this year, Free Happens aims to promote the bank's free personal and business checking accounts by surprising consumers with unexpected perks. For example, this summer FirstBank gave away 500 pizzas to delivery callers, surprised local food truck patrons with 1,500 free meals and provided hundreds of free pedicab rides in Downtown Denver.
