Free Foreclosure Prevention Workshop in Las Vegas Sponsored by Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released today by the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco:
WHAT:
In response to the high rate of home foreclosures in Nevada, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, local community organizations, mortgage lenders and servicers will host a free foreclosure prevention workshop to assist homeowners facing home foreclosure. The free workshop is open to the public and will include a panel discussion on how to identify mortgage scams, the tax impact of short sales, and other areas such as: understanding the foreclosure process, crisis budgeting, role of the housing counselor and alternative resolutions. Rep. Shelley Berkley (NV-1) will make opening remarks.
Housing counselors and lender/servicers will be available to provide one-on-one consultations to homeowners. Attendees are encouraged to bring loan documents and other relevant financial information. Financial institutions participating in the free Home Preservation Workshop include: FHLBank San Francisco, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. A separate session will also counsel first time homebuyers on what assistance may be available to them.
