COLTS NECK, N.J., Nov. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Eric Casaburi, CEO and founder of Retro Fitness, will co-host an unscripted documentary special focusing on struggling small businesses in America called, "Save It or Sell It." The one-hour special premieres Sunday, November 5 at 11 p.m. on A&E® followed by premieres across A+E Networks' enthusiast blocks on HISTORY® and A&E as well as FYI™.
Many small businesses across America are in trouble, with up to 90 percent failing within their first five years. "Save It or Sell It"' puts all of the options on the table for business owners as Casaburi and co-host Robert Hirsch help to assess the value of the business, diagnose problems, plan renovations, and solicit potential buyers through a blind bidding process. Throughout the special, Casaburi and Hirsch compete to show the struggling small business owners how to maximize their options convincing them to either SELL 100 percent of their business or SAVE it.
Casaburi is no stranger to saving and growing businesses, having founded Retro Fitness during the recession at the age of 23 and growing it into a $150M a year franchise, along with establishing other successful businesses. Today, Retro Fitness boasts half a million members in more than 155 U.S. locations.
His signature New Jersey "shoot-you-straight" style and energetic personality plays well off co-host and serial entrepreneur Hirsch, whose experience includes riding the first wave of the dot.com boom as a venture-backed CEO, consolidating the adventure travel industry as founder of Adventure Central and most recently running a private equity fund with a portfolio of seven marketing and technology companies.
"My mission is to help small business owners flourish," Casaburi said. "Sometimes that means taking big steps to reinvent a struggling business in order to save it. Other times the smartest move is to move on, by selling and using your passion as fuel for your next venture."
Casaburi said "Save It or Sell It" aims to share important lessons such as how to honestly evaluate the value of a business, how to separate emotions when making decisions and how to sort conflicts between partners when it comes to deciding the fate of a business.
With a passion to help entrepreneurs reach their business dreams, Casaburi authored the book Just Make Money! and also hosts a two-part online video series, The Weigh-In and The Weekly Gain, where he blends his passion for entrepreneurism and fitness and gives viewers a rare glimpse into the day-to-day personal and professional life of a modern-day CEO.
