Fostering Low-Carbon Cities with the Delta Green Building Exhibition - the Largest Environmental Education Exhibition at EcoMobility World Festival & Congress 2017
KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan, Oct. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Delta Green Building Exhibition, the largest environmental education exhibition at EcoMobility World Festival & Congress 2017, is inaugurated today with an official ceremony held at the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The exhibition, held under the theme "Green Living & Low-Carbon Transportation", not only integrates the green building concept with eco-friendly transportation but also utilizes several multi-media applications, such as the world's first super high-brightness, 8K-resolution projector, to provide the audience with vivid experiences on climate change knowledge and on Delta's endeavors regarding green buildings, e-mobility, energy storage and carbon emissions reduction. The opening ceremony features a stage play with projection of illustration about the green building story from a children book- "Namasia's Library", performed by two students from the Namasia Ming Chuan Elementary School, a net-zero campus rebuilt by Delta. Key attendees include, Delta Group's founder, Mr. Bruce Cheng; Delta Electronics' chairman, Mr. Yancey Hai; Delta Electronics' CEO, Mr. Ping Cheng; Delta Electronics Foundation's executive director, Ms. Shan-Shan Guo; Kaohsiung City Government Transportation Bureau's director-general, Mr. Ching-Fu Chen, as well as Namasia Ming Chuan Elementary School's principal, Mr. Kuo-Cheng, Wu.
Delta's founder and honorary chairman, Bruce Cheng, said, "The Paris Agreement recognized that enabling sustainable technologies in buildings and transportation is critical for the ultimate goal of containing global temperature rise within 2°C not only because they account for 19% and 23% of global energy-related greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions respectively, but also because their future energy demand is unlikely to peak soon. In alignment with the global carbon reduction trend, Delta's long-term development of building automation, electric vehicle (EV) charging, smart LED lighting, energy storage and other green technologies are nurturing the creation of sustainable cities across the planet."
Mr. Ching-Fu Chen, Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau's director-general, remarked, "Delta's achievements in CSR are widely recognized. When I visited Delta Green Building Exhibition at the Grand Palais, Paris, during COP21 in 2015, I was impressed and invited Delta to organize the exhibition in Kaohsiung. I express my sincere gratitude to Delta for participating in EcoMobility World Festival & Congress 2017. The exhibition is not only the highlight but also the largest environmental education exhibition in the festival."
Ms. Shan-Shan Guo, the curator of the exhibition and executive director of the Delta Electronics Foundation, said, "Originally, the green building concept entailed the minimization of resource consumption and waste, but expanded further into critical areas like occupants' health and ecological harmony, thus, becoming a broader concept that covers communities and cities. Therefore, our exhibition integrates low-carbon transportation and energy management as well as an enhanced range of multimedia technologies to enable more interaction with our audience. The key highlight of our exhibition will be the astonishing projection from Delta's world-leading high-brightness 8K projector, introducing the first 8K educational documentary produced in collaboration with Japan's NHK Enterprise, showing the beauty of water in Taiwan. We look forward to inspiring the public to cherish our environment."
The Delta Green Building Exhibition integrates innovative interactive projection technology to let visitors get immersed into our energy-saving green buildings and e-mobility technology. Delta's edge-blending projection, deeply praised by the audience of our previous editions of the exhibition in Paris, Beijing and Taipei, highlights the "Building Harmony with Nature" film which symbolizes our 25 green buildings with the concepts of "Flower as Form", a "Bug as Neighbor" and a "Stone as Eaves". Revolutionary AR (augmented reality) technology is also applied in Taiwan's first green building children storybook "Namasia's Library" to further spark the interest of our audience.
Delta also utilizes Qumi portable projectors from its brand Vivitek to create an interactive edge-blending projection area introducing its headquarters building for the Americas region, which reached net-zero energy status during the month of July 2017. Furthermore, our laser ultra-short-throw projectors present the building-integrated photovoltaic system (BIPV) installed by Delta in the 2009 World Games Main Stadium in Kaohsiung which achieved the world's largest capacity of BIPV in a stadium at that time. Another interactive display leverages conductive ink to show our younger generations the concept of future electricity grids.
Green Building Exhibition in Kaohsiung, extending beyond green buildings and into low-carbon transportation, features Delta's EV Charging Solutions, smart LED lighting and transportation energy management, all of which are integral parts in smart green cities. Moreover, the "Green Port to Make a Proud City" section of the Exhibition area will display "Kaohsiung Miracle" short film and Delta's state-of-the-art industrial robot arm solution to underscore the contrast between previous and next-generation infrastructure and technology. Lastly, a section will present low-carbon design and devises used at residential homes to demonstrate to the audience that we all can live a green life.
