Award Comes on the Heels of Recognition as a Best Workplace for Millennials and Women
HOUSTON, Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Transwestern today announces Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine have named the firm No. 39 on the "50 Best Workplaces for Camaraderie" list. Transwestern is the only third-party, full-service commercial real estate firm to be recognized. Earlier this year, the same parties named Transwestern one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials and one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Women.
"This particular national recognition is a team win in every respect," said Larry P. Heard, CEO of Transwestern's family of companies. "Best-in-class camaraderie requires a shared vision, aligned interests, teamwork and mutual respect. A company can move mountains when all team members are fully committed to the same mission."
Transwestern encourages camaraderie among its team members through young professionals groups, mentoring, holiday parties, year-round social events, wellness activities and community service events. Many groups have special team-building activities and volunteering events throughout the year.
"We want our people to enjoy working at Transwestern," said the firm's President │ Americas Chip Clarke. "Creating a positive work environment boosts productivity and allows us to serve our clients and each other at the highest level. Our highly collaborative approach helps us attract and retain the best people in the industry, and we are honored to be recognized by Fortune for a third time."
The "Best Workplace" winners were selected based on evaluations from more than 255,000 employees from nearly 600 participating companies. Firms achieving the highest overall results were then ranked based on employees' feedback regarding the quality of the personal connections they experience with colleagues. Survey results achieved a 95 percent confidence level and a margin of error of 5 percent or less.
"Companies that develop strong personal ties among employees and make time for fun at work aren't just doing it to be nice – it's a critical strategic investment," said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work United States. "Workplaces with strong camaraderie are associated with higher levels of cooperation, effort and effective communication – all essential ingredients of a high-performing organization."
The 50 Best Workplaces for Camaraderie ranking is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine based upon employee survey feedback from published Great Place to Work Reviews.
