Former Deputy Asst. Secretary of Defense Joins Government Contractor As COO
Ed Greer to direct The MIL Corporation's business operations and strategy
BOWIE, Md., Jan. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As the first ever deputy assistant secretary for Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Ed Greer paved the way for the rebuilding of the department under Weapon Acquisition Reform Act of 2009. He not only molded DT&E policy and guided the acquisition of major Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems, but also served as the director of the Test Resource Management Center. Today, Greer lends his expertise to The MIL Corporation (MIL), a mid-sized government contractor, as their new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Greer will utilize his expertise in both federal and business operations to support MIL's executive leadership team, guiding the organization's business strategy and objectives.

As Executive Director at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, Md., Greer ensured that technical, business, and financial objectives were met across a workforce of 14,400 and a total operating budget of over $4 billion. Greer's background also includes the Senior Executive Service where he served as director of the Atlantic Ranges and Facilities, NAWCAD.
Further highlighting his impressive background, Greer served as the principal deputy program manager for the E-6B Aircraft Program and also held an assignment in the Pentagon as a staff specialist in the office of the Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology, Test, Systems Engineering and Evaluation; Test Facilities and Resources.
As a testament to his accomplishments, Greer was awarded the National Defense Industrial Association's (NDIA) 2013 Walter W. Hollis Award for Lifetime Achievement in Defense Test and Evaluation.
