Former Colorado Governor Announced as a Keynote Speaker for Ohio's Statewide Advanced Energy B2B Conference
Bill Ritter Jr. to discuss the role of states in accelerating the growth of an advanced energy economy; Ritter joins PUCO Chairman Todd Snitchler as keynote speakers
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Advanced Energy Economy Ohio and NorTech today announced Bill Ritter Jr., Colorado's 41st governor and the current director of the Center for the New Energy Economy (CNEE) at Colorado State University, as a keynote speaker at the statewide Advanced Energy B2B Conference & Expo®. The event is being held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, on October 30-31.
Ritter will speak at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30. As former Governor of Colorado, Ritter established the state, traditionally rich in fossil fuels, as a national and international leader in renewable energy. During his four-year term, he enacted an aggressive business development and job creation agenda focused on advanced energy, resulting in significant job creation and company growth. During Ritter's tenure, Colorado passed numerous clean energy policy initiatives and tripled the state's renewable energy portfolio.
Ritter will share his unique perspective on how states can lead the way in developing a sustainable energy future, regardless of the status of national energy policy. His insights will be particularly relevant to companies, researchers and supply chain manufacturers in Ohio developing the next generation of advanced energy technologies.
On October 31, PUCO Chairman Todd Snitchler is scheduled to keynote the opening of the second day of the conference at 8:00 a.m. Snitchler will highlight the opportunities emerging from Ohio's electrical systems and advanced energy economy.
The Advanced Energy B2B Conference and Expo will provide a statewide forum for addressing topics such as energy efficiency, advanced energy supply chain opportunities, the shale gas boom, downstream benefits for the state's chemical and polymer companies, and public policy issues – all designed to highlight and accelerate the new energy economy in Ohio. The program also includes an industry track (waste & biomass to energy, energy storage, fuel cells, smart grid, and solar), and a Technology Showcase with dozens of presentations featuring entrepreneurs, companies and researchers seeking collaborators, partners and funding.
Advanced Energy B2B will feature a robust exhibition hall with innovative companies, research institutions and supply chain providers showcasing their advanced energy technologies and products. Advance conference registration ends October 29. An additional $100 fee will be charged for registration at the door.
