Flipps to Stream Second of a Series of PPV Live Events on Connected TVs Worldwide
SAN FRANCISCO, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Flipps has teamed up with Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to stream the upcoming Built Ford Tough Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business, presented by BlueDEF, on Smart TVs and set top boxes worldwide.
On May 30th, the Flipps app for iOS and Android will air a three-hour live broadcast of three different PBR competitions beginning with coverage of the J.W. Hart PBR Challenge BlueDEF Velocity Tour event, featuring the best up-and-coming riders and the elite stars from the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) competing alongside each other.
It also includes the Built Ford Tough Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business competition, a $160,000 winner-take-all challenge that will include eight PBR Ring of Honor members coming out of retirement solely for this momentous occasion: Chris Shivers, Justin McBride, Ross Coleman, Mike White, Michael Gaffney, Tater Porter, Cody Custer and J.W. Hart.
The broadcast will end with the World Champions Challenge showcasing the active PBR World Champions and PRCA Bull Riding Champions competing for a potential winner's purse of $50,000.
Bull riding fans will now have the opportunity to stream all of the action live on TV with the Flipps mobile app and over 5,000 models of connected devices including Chromecast, Xbox, Samsung, Phillips, and Panasonic TVs and more. With the Flipps app for iOS and Android, viewers can stream all the action onto a big-screen TV directly without any setup, extra hardware or TV apps.
Flipps has thus far proven to be the ultimate global TV distribution platform for live event organizers ranging from sports to music. With traditional live stream distribution, organizers often face the challenge of making individual deals with carriers by region and usually cover only key markets. In addition to covering 200 countries with a single deal, Flipps also drives incremental traffic in key markets, providing a highly sought-after user profile and mobile user experience. Viewer transactions are processed via in-app purchase – a more seamless billing process than cable company interfaces. Additionally, Flipps provides value to publishers in the form of in-depth viewer analytics (aggregated and anonymous).
"PBR is the premiere bull riding organization in the world and we are honored to be able to elevate that content to new audiences through the Flipps platform, " said Kosta Jordanov, Flipps CEO.
Earlier this year, Flipps partnered with Global Force Wrestling (GFW) to stream one of the largest events in professional wrestling, the New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome show. The event was a global success, with orders topping out major cable providers despite initial technical issues due to load.
The May 30th three-hour PBR event special is now available for pre-purchase via the Flipps app. Find out more about how to order on www.flipps.com.
