Flipboard And Twitter Announce Syndication Of Promoted Tweets
Now Brands Can Access People Reading Twitter On Flipboard
PALO ALTO, Calif., Feb. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Flipboard and Twitter today announced a partnership that gives brands advertising on Twitter the ability to expand their campaigns into Flipboard's award-winning mobile experience. With this syndication, Promoted Tweets will be displayed using new beautiful layouts on Flipboard, an environment known for visually rich, full screen brand advertising.
"In our early conversations, both brands and agencies have been excited about reaching Twitter's audience on Flipboard. And because the Promoted Tweets are served right in the Twitter feed on Flipboard, it's a very engaging native ad experience—being able to share stories, videos and beautiful galleries right in the content flow on Flipboard," said Eric Feng, CTO and head of engineering at Flipboard.
"Working with Flipboard and other third parties, Twitter advertisers have the opportunity to extend the reach of their Twitter ads to larger audiences," said Ameet Ranadive, Senior Director of Product at Twitter. "We are being very thoughtful about the program and we believe Flipboard can deliver a unique, premium experience and provide exciting campaign extension for our advertisers."
Using this model, Twitter's Promoted Tweets strategy can be a part of the Flipboard ecosystem and presented in an immersive, gorgeous reading experience. Promoted Tweets on Flipboard will be rendered using the images and content from the brand's originating tweet and by tapping on the tweet the reader is brought either to a destination site or the brand's Twitter feed.
