During the quarter, the Company reported net sales of $1.7 billion, up 22.0% YoY. Net income for Q2 FY 2014 came in at $131.0 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, as compared to $111.0 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, in Q2 FY 2013. Donald R. Horton, Chairman of the Board, commented, "Our homebuilding and financial services operations delivered a great quarter, highlighted by pre-tax income of $201.9 million and a pre-tax income margin of 11.6%. Owens Corning Analyst Notes
On April 23, 2014, Owens Corning released its financial results for Q1 2014. The Company posted a 5.3% YoY decline in net sales to $1.3 billion. Owens Corning's Chairman and CEO Mike Thaman stated that the Company's Q1 2014 performance was led by continued improvement in Insulation and Composites, which offset the impact of weaker-than-expected roofing volumes. Adjusted earnings for Q1 2014 were $35 million, or $0.29 per diluted share, which remained flat as compared to Q1 2013. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the Company to report earnings of $0.36 per share for the quarter. The shares in Owens Corning declined 4.06% on the day of earnings release. The Company continues to expect to deliver $500 million in adjusted EBIT for full-year 2014 based on the current outlook for an improving U.S. housing market and moderate global growth. General Dynamics Corp. Analyst Notes
On April 23, 2014, General Dynamics Corp. (General Dynamics) reported its Q1 2014 results. Net earnings during the quarter came in at $595 million or $1.71 per diluted share, as compared to $571 million or $1.62 per diluted share in Q1 2013. The Company reported net revenues of $7.3 billion, down 1.1% YoY. The reported earnings and revenues of the Company surpassed Zacks earnings and revenues estimate by 4.9% and 2.4%, respectively.
