Ferring Pharmaceuticals Supports 25th Annual National Infertility Awareness Week with Launch of 2014 Heart to Heart Video Contest
Families Invited to Share their Triumphs over Infertility for Chance to Win Educational Grants
PARSIPPANY, N.J., April 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In support of the 25th anniversary of National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW), Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. today announced the launch of its 2014 Heart to Heart Video Contest. Through the contest, Ferring hopes to raise awareness of infertility, which affects millions of Americans, and encourage participants to offer words of support to others facing the diagnosis.
By entering the contest, parents have a chance to win up to $10,000 toward their child's education. Now through August 31, 2014, contestants can submit a creative video that fits the theme "Have Heart, Share Hope," capturing the story of their journey to parenthood and giving others hope through the difficult experience of infertility.

Last year's winners, the Dodge family from Warrenton, Va., focused their video on letting those affected by the diagnosis know they are not alone in their journey. "We were inspired to share our story as part of the Heart to Heart Video Contest to give hope to others facing infertility and reduce the stigma associated with the diagnosis," said Aren Dodge, winner of the 2013 Heart to Heart Video Contest. "We're so thankful to Ferring because this contest helps to spark a national conversation about infertility serving to ensure fewer couples face the diagnosis in silence."
For some, hope may lie in the ability to break the silence around the diagnosis and lean on friends and family for support. Ferring has encouraged families to share their story since 2004, beginning with the My Little Miracle Essay Contest and growing into a video contest with the launch of the Heart to Heart Contest last year. Through the process, the company has donated more than $160,000 to help parents pay for their children's education.
The deadline for all Heart to Heart Video Contest submissions is August 31, 2014. Entries will be reviewed by a committee of individuals from third-party and patient advocacy organizations from the reproductive health community, who will select the top five finalists. The public will then be invited to vote for their favorite video on www.hearttoheartcontest.com. The video submission with the most votes will win $10,000, while the remaining finalists will each win $4,000 for their child's education.
