Faurecia's 9th Annual Fuels Food Drive Aims To Raise More Than One Million Meals
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Faurecia is fighting hunger in our local communities. More than 20,000 employees across North America are "FUEL-ED" up for the annual FUELS Food Drive. Faurecia Unites with Employees for Local Service (FUELS) is the community outreach program for Faurecia in North America. Team members give back to their local communities in ways that include fundraising and volunteering to support local non-profit groups.
Faurecia locations in Canada, Mexico and the United States are partnering with local foodbanks to understand the specific needs of area residents and ensure maximum impact during September.
Since the annual campaign kicked off in 2010, Faurecia teams have donated more than 6.61 million meals to their community food banks. Last year alone, employees provided more than 1.01 million meals to the communities that support us. This year, we plan to top that by more than 66,000 additional meals!

Faurecia employees across 44 sites will rally around a common cause: supporting a non-profit partner of their choice. They will hold on-site fundraisers, launch friendly competitions and host local events to create awareness about their food drive partner. Throughout September, they collect donations with the goal of surpassing last year's site donation, generating an automatic donation from the company to their partner.
This year, in addition to monetary and food donations, sites are charged with growing the number of volunteer hours donated, at times on company time, during the month. Sites with the most volunteering hours will receive an additional donation for their food drive partner.
The annual FUELS Food Drive is a signature program in Faurecia's North America community outreach. Faurecia seeks to support non-profit organizations doing important work in our communities in a number of ways including: encouraging team members to volunteer, using skills-based volunteerism to drive impact, providing financial support for team-driven projects, and providing sponsorships and donations to local events and organizations.
