Fathom Invites Adventure-Seekers to "Travel More, Save More" with a New Package Designed to Help Travel Enthusiasts Visit Both Cuba and the Dominican Republic
Carnival Corporation's new social impact brand introduces a back-to-back sailings offer enabling travelers to extend their trips for even more memorable voyages with the ultimate give-back experiences
SEATTLE, March 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fathom, the pioneer in social impact travel and Carnival Corporation's (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) 10th and newest brand, today announced its "Travel More, Save More" package providing special savings for back-to-back sailings on multiple Fathom voyages. Travelers who book two consecutive cruises aboard Fathom through June 30, 2016 will receive a 10 percent discount on both itineraries. For each week they extend their Fathom sailings, travelers will earn additional discounts up to a full 25 percent.
According to Tara Russell, president of Fathom and global impact lead for Carnival Corporation, Fathom provides the ideal scenario for back-to-back cruise journeys. On alternating weeks, the company will offer social impact experiences in the Dominican Republic and cultural exchange opportunities in Cuba. "Because the two destinations and itineraries we will offer in each location are so distinct, it is very likely travelers will want to sail with us to both countries," said Russell. "Our 'Travel More, Save More' offer will create an even more affordable way for people to experience two uniquely rich cultures and two very different but extraordinary types of trips."
Now Easier to Plan and Afford Multiple Cruises
"Travel More, Save More" discounts are available beginning April 11, 2016 through June 30, 2016. Travelers who book consecutive cruises aboard Fathom will earn discounts including:
- Two sailings – 10 percent off both cruises.
- Three sailings – 15 percent off all three cruises.
- Four sailings or more – 25 percent off all cruises.
Discounts will be applied per-person and are available for low, shoulder and peak seasons. The "Travel More, Save More" offer applies to all staterooms, including inside, outside and balcony cabins, as well as suites. Gratuities are not included. Taxes, fees and port expenses are also not included, and are currently $208 per person for Dominican Republic sailings and $208 per person for Cuba sailings, which are both subject to change.
"We want to make it easy for consumers to plan, afford and enjoy extended trips, giving them plenty of time to build community with like-minded Fathom travelers, to become immersed in other cultures and to take advantage of relaxing and recreational activities," said Russell. "We expect the 'Travel More, Save More' offer to appeal to mindful explorers interested in embarking on the incredible journey of discovery, leisure time and personal enrichment – from first-time cruisers to seasoned globetrotters to nomadic families to curious adventurers."
The 704-passenger Adonia, refurbished in 2011 and being refreshed again this month, will serve as a comfortable convenient home base where travelers may settle in for their sequential voyages. With restaurants, lounges, bars, pools, a spa, a state-of-the-art gym and all the other amenities of a 21st-century passenger ship, the Adonia offers extensive accommodations to appeal to every interest. In addition, passengers may take advantage of thoughtfully prepared destination-inspired meals, lively Caribbean-themed musical performances, and uniquely captivating, immersive programming.
Onboard programming will range from engaging cultural and geographic immersions exploring the unique and storied histories and customs of the Dominican and Cuba, to interactive social impact workshops to stimulate the imagination. Travelers may also receive conversational Spanish coaching to help them interact with local citizens upon arrival in both countries. These onboard activities will be not just a learning experience, but a chance for voyagers to transform personally, while spending time with people who share their view of a world where everyone has the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
Same Cruise Line, Different Adventures
Fathom experiences to the Dominican Republic and Cuba are equally exciting and meaningful, but differ enough to inspire back-to-back bookings. For example, Fathom's Dominican Republic itinerary features carefully designed, holistic impact experiences designed to enrich the lives of travelers as they work alongside locals to tackle important community needs. Fathom travelers may build their own schedules and will have the flexibility each day to choose from a variety of memorable economic, educational and environmental social impact activities, as well as an array of recreation, leisure and sightseeing pursuits.
Fathom voyages to Cuba will emphasize cultural exchange, and will include compelling, one-of-a kind shore-side activities designed to provide extraordinary experiences that will be very unique. Specific activities will include engaging artists, experiencing the local food and music culture, meeting local Cuban business professionals, understanding micro-enterprise and the agricultural sector, connecting to the education system and youth, and more. All Cuban programs will fully comply with U.S. regulations authorizing Americans to travel to Cuba under one of 12 criteria permitted by the U.S. Treasury Department.
Prices for the seven-day trips to the Dominican Republic start at $974 per person, excluding taxes, fees and port expenses and including all meals on the ship, onboard social impact immersion experiences, onshore social impact activities and related supplies.
