Fandango's high definition movie trailers, embedded with ticketing features, will be built into the Movies & TV Shows panel, a video recommendation and discovery service offered on Samsung Smart TVs. Consumers will be able to browse, discover, watch video content and purchase movie tickets from one single place, right from the TV.
"We are delighted to partner with Samsung as they continue to push the boundaries and benefits of the Smart TV experience," said Paul Yanover, Fandango President. "Fandango will be aggregating high definition movie trailers so that consumers can gain instant access to the content they love while offering a simple way to purchase movie tickets in advance."
In September 2013, Fandango's showtimes, ticketing, movie trailers and original movie preview show "Weekend Ticket" were integrated into Samsung's GALAXY Note 3 devices as part of Samsung's innovative content recommendation service, "Here and Now."
The announcement comes on the heels of Fandango's record-breaking 2013, the company's best year in its history. The company's success has been fueled by growth in ticket sales across new technology and mobile platforms, accounting for 42% of Fandango's total ticket sales, as well as new products and services such as paperless mobile ticket scanning, reserved seating expansion and new platform apps.
