FANDANGO TO EXPAND PAPERLESS MOBILE TICKETS TO MORE THAN 1,400 ADDITIONAL SCREENS -- ITS WIDEST MOBILE TICKET ROLLOUT YET -- MORE THAN DOUBLING THE REACH OF THIS CONVENIENCE, NOW AVAILABLE TO FILM FANS AT OVER 2,600 SCREENS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

LAS VEGAS, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CINEMACON -- Fandango, the nation's leading moviegoer destination, announced today that it will introduce paperless mobile tickets at more than 1,400 additional screens across the country, just in time for the highly anticipated release of "The Avengers" on May 4.

The latest expansion marks Fandango's widest paperless ticket rollout yet, adding 1,300 select Cinemark screens and 100 select Regency Theatres screens to its network of paperless mobile ticket locations.
With the addition of the Cinemark and Regency screens, Fandango more than doubles the reach of this convenience, now available to film fans at more than 2,600 screens across the country. Fandango previously offered paperless mobile tickets at 1,200 screens with Regal Entertainment Group, Reading Cinemas and Hollywood Theaters.
Fandango's mobile offerings have changed the face of moviegoing, with 23% of the company's ticket sales driven by mobile transactions. As part of a string of Fandango innovations such as reserved seating and its award-winning mobile and tablet apps, this latest convenience allows customers to get their movie tickets sent to their phones in the form of mobile barcodes. With paperless tickets, film fans can simply take their mobile phones straight to the theater ticket-taker, bypassing the box office windows and kiosks. The ticket-taker then scans the ticket on the phone for easy entrance to the summer's hottest films.
"This extremely popular paperless product is the latest in a long line of Fandango innovations which have enabled fans to purchase tickets anytime and anywhere on any device," said Rick Butler, EVP and General Manager of Fandango. "As moviegoers head to theaters for the highly anticipated release of 'The Avengers' next week, we're sure that this Fandango convenience will play a key role in facilitating and driving ticket sales with film fans."
Heading into the summer, the busiest moviegoing season of the year, Fandango just finished its most successful first quarter in the company's nearly 12-year history. As Fandango's ticket sales surged 127% over last year, the company also partnered with AMC Theatres, Regency Theatres and other chains to expand its theater network by 19%. The quarter also included Fandango's newly-signed ticketing deal with Yahoo and the launch of Fandango's enormously popular Facebook Timeline app, "Movies with Friends."
