Family Christian Invites Guests to Join in The National Day of Prayer
Stores Across the Country Open Early to Celebrate National Observance
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, May 5, Family Christian locations across the country are opening their doors an hour earlier at 9:00 a.m. (local time) and inviting guests to join in observing The National Day of Prayer within the stores. Prayer will begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. and those in attendance will have the chance to submit prayer requests and will receive an "I Prayed" sticker to serve as a reminder to reflect throughout the rest of the day.
The National Day of Prayer is intended to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture. Millions of believers across the United States bond together through the holy act of prayer, seeking God's favor over the nation.
"Our mission at Family Christian is to help people find, grow, share and celebrate their faith in Jesus Christ," said Dan McAleenan, Senior Vice President, Store Operations. "By gathering guests in our stores, our mission is being acted on and we are grateful to open our space to pray over our nation and our local communities."
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
