Extended Stay America Appoints Mark Mahoney As Executive Vice President Of Sales

(NYSE:STAY) – the largest owner operated hotel chain in the U.S., announces the promotion of Mark Mahoney as the Executive Vice President of Sales, reporting directly to Chief Marketing Officer Tom Seddon effective immediately. Mr. Mahoney will be responsible for leading the company's sales team to deliver positive financial results across the portfolio's nearly 700 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
Mr. Mahoney is an accomplished sales leader with a proven history of building highly effective sales teams and producing strong financial returns. Since joining Extended Stay America in 2011, Mahoney has distinguished himself as a consistent top performer in the company and has been recognized for building organizational talent and engagement. The hallmark to Mahoney's success is his ability to both create business-driving strategies and follow through with generating outstanding results.
Prior to joining Extended Stay America, Mahoney was the sales leader for Red Lion Hotels Corporation and the Marcus Corporations where he led sales teams in excess of 200 people. His broad base of industry knowledge and expertise are a result of his tenure in sales, general management and development roles at Boykin Management Company, MeriStar Hotels and Resorts, Hilton, Marriott and Holiday Inn.
