On January 31, Centro Comercial Paseo Interlomas welcomed Johnny Rockets to its upscale shopping and dining mecca in Huixquilucan. In mid-December, the equally fashionable Plaza Las Villas in Monterey, Nuevo Leon added Johnny Rockets to its roster of nearly 100 retail outlets and restaurants.
"As the eleventh most populated country in the world with more than 114 million residents, Mexico continues to offer us a tremendous opportunity to introduce our unique combination of flavorful fare, friendly service and upbeat entertainment to a vast consumer audience," said Steve Devine, President of Johnny Rockets International. "We're fortunate to have several skilled franchise operators who consistently provide our Guests with an out-of-this-world, feel-good, Americana experience, and who will continue to grow our presence in Mexico."
Both restaurants offer the mouthwatering Hamburgers, crispy American Fries, hand-spun Shakes and classic Sandwiches that have made Johnny Rockets a popular dining destination in Mexico since the company's first Mexico City location at Galerias Insurgentes opened in April 1993. Subsequent airport, theme park, mall and strip center locations ensued in Mexico City (2), Cancun (5), Jalisco (2), Colima (1), Guadalajara (1), Toluca (1), Cabo San Lucas (1), Culiacan (1), and – most recently – San Pedro Garza Garcia (also in Nuevo Leon) last March.
The new 2,283-square-foot Paseo Interlomas restaurant (Vialidad de la Barranca No. 6 in Huixquilucan) is located on the third level, and seats 71 Guests inside and 24 on the outside patio. It employs 25 local residents, and is open Sunday through Thursday from noon to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from noon to 11:00 p.m. The 2,680-square-foot Plaza Las Villas restaurant (Ave. Eugenio Garza Sada #615 in Monterey) seats 109 guests and is located on the third floor of the shopping mall. It is open every day from noon until midnight, and employs 18 local residents.
