Esurance Back on the Field with Major League Baseball as Exclusive Auto Insurance Partner
Esurance brings smart choices, more engagement to baseball fans with Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot and Sweepstakes and Esurance MLB Awards
SAN FRANCISCO, May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Esurance today launched a new slate of media spots featuring Buster Posey, the three-time World Series Champion, All-Star catcher and Esurance brand ambassador. This launch signifies another step forward in a multi-year partnership with Major League Baseball, now in its second season.
"We're excited to continue working with Esurance to give MLB fans around the country new opportunities to voice their fandom and celebrate their favorite teams and moments throughout the season," said Noah Garden, MLB Executive Vice President, Business.
New Creative Featuring Buster Posey
Expanding upon last year's advertising activities with Posey, this baseball season he will appear in two television commercials, social media videos, and digital display advertising for Esurance. The creative is an extension of the new Esurance advertising campaign "Smart People Get Esurance," which is part of the brand platform "Insurance for the Modern World."
The commercials, titled "New Digs" and "Chicken Strips," provide a comedic take on the "smart choices" Posey makes in order to save money —from doing his personal laundry in the locker room to hoarding skybox chicken strips — showcasing how Esurance helps people make smart choices when it comes to insurance. On May 23, a 30-second and two 15-second commercials will be rolling out on television nationwide. They'll also appear on Esurance and MLB social and digital channels throughout the season.
"I really enjoy working with the Esurance team. For the second year running, they've been great partners, with a product I trust for my family," said Posey.
In conjunction with the commercials, Esurance will post three social media videos in a "What would Buster do?" series. The short videos, designed to engage viewers in a fun, entertaining way, feature Posey in comedic situations demonstrating things he wouldn't do when up to bat. In addition to the videos, Posey will have a starring role in digital display advertising and related Esurance landing pages.
"Extending the 'Smart People Get Esurance' campaign into our MLB partnership carries the convention of showing a not-so-smart way to save money taken to an amusing extreme, while also appealing to baseball fans with superstar Buster Posey," said Alan Gellman, Esurance Chief Marketing Officer.
