Official Rental Car of the NHL® Launches Playoff Edition of Popular Hat Trick Challenge; One Fan Will Win Trip to 2015 NHL All-Star Game
Brand Also Debuts New Commercial Featuring T.J. Oshie
ST. LOUIS, April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On the eve of the National Hockey League® 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Enterprise Rent-A-Car – an official partner of the NHL – in partnership with hockey analyst Barry Melrose, today announced the launch of the Playoffs edition of the company's NHL Hat Trick Challenge.
Beginning Wednesday, April 16, and until the Stanley Cup champion is crowned, hockey fans can visit hattrick.nhl.com to test their ability to predict various game outcomes, including which teams will win, and which players will score goals and make assists. Every day that games are scheduled, Enterprise and the NHL will pose three questions on the Hat Trick Challenge website, and if an individual answers all three questions correctly, a hat trick is scored. The individual who scores the most hat tricks throughout the playoffs will win the Hat Trick Challenge and receive two tickets and a trip to the 2015 NHL All-Star Game in Columbus, Ohio.
"The Stanley Cup Playoffs are perhaps the most energetic, passionate competition in professional sports, and the Hat Trick Challenge is a fun way for fans to tap into that passion and compete amongst themselves every day throughout the playoffs," said Melrose, a former NHL player and coach.
In addition to competing for the trip to the 2015 NHL All-Star Game, participants can create custom Hat Trick Challenge leagues and play against friends and family, as well as other fans of their favorite team. Top Hat Trick Challenge players will appear on a leaderboard on the website, and the top 15 hat trick scorers will be featured on the homepage.
"We share our customers' passion for hockey, and the Stanley Cup Playoffs are something that our customers rally around," said Jim Stoeppler, assistant vice president, Enterprise Brand Marketing. "As an official partner of the NHL and NHLPA for the past five years, we place a big emphasis on continuing to bring our partnership to life for fans in meaningful ways, and the Hat Trick Challenge is an enjoyable way for fans to be involved in the games all playoffs long."
The Playoffs edition of the Hat Trick Challenge will be supported by an integrated marketing campaign that includes digital advertising, public relations and social media. Melrose will take part in the campaign, including media appearances.
In addition to the Hat Trick Challenge, Enterprise will air a new commercial throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs featuring St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie. The spot begins airing Wednesday, April 16.
Now in its fifth year as an official partner of the NHL, Enterprise also has sponsorship deals with 29 of the 30 NHL clubs, as well as the NHL Players' Association.
