ATLANTA, July 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As if indulging in a scoop of Haagen-Dazs super-premium ice cream on a warm summer day wasn't enough, participating Haagen-Dazs shops in the Atlanta region are giving guests the chance to feel even better about their enjoyment of its decadent ice cream. On Friday, July 24, participating Haagen-Dazs shops in the Atlanta region will be donating 100 percent of their sales to Bert's Big Adventure®, a nonprofit organization that provides all-expenses-paid, five-day adventures for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families to Walt Disney World®.
"It's an incredible feeling to be able to have an impact on such a significant moment in a child's life," said Tim West, Franchise Business Manager for Haagen-Dazs shops. "These kids and families are battling every single day. To help support the opportunity for them to escape for just one weekend and experience the magic of a Disney adventure is something that resonates in the hearts of our shop owners as well as our guests."
Haagen-Dazs shops in the Atlanta region matched 50 percent of sales in 2014, helping children experience the five-day Disney journey. By donating 100 percent of sales this year, the brand hopes to help send even more children, between ages five and 12, on the all-inclusive vacations to Walt Disney World – an experience many of these children and families would not be able to experience without the help of the foundation.
"We are thrilled with the partnership that we have shared with Haagen-Dazs throughout the past four years. Since 2011, this partnership has been helping Bert's Big Adventure take very deserving kids and their families to Walt Disney World. We look forward to many more years of working together and eating a lot more ice cream," said Bert Weiss, founder of Bert's Big Adventure.
This year, to put smiles on the faces of children and families across the region, nine participating shops will be donating to support Bert's Big Adventure. "Being part of something that puts a smile on so many people's faces, especially the Bert's Big Adventure kids and their families, is the best feeling in the world," said Mona Patel, Haagen-Dazs shops franchisee.
Help Haagen-Dazs shops and Bert's Big Adventure send children to Walt Disney World by visiting any of the following participating Haagen-Dazs shops on July 24: Lenox Mall, Perimeter Mall, Town Center at Cobb, Mall of Georgia, North Point Mall, Cumberland Mall and Cumberland Festival Shopping Center in Georgia, as well as South Market Street in Charleston, S.C.
