Employee Engagement Platform Perkbox Unveils "Happiness Lab" Creative Space in New London Offices For HR, L&D And Employee Engagement Professionals
LONDON, September 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Perkbox, the award-winning employee engagement and reward & recognition platform, which was this year cited no.2 in the Startups100 index recognising it as one of the fastest growing and most successful start-ups in the country, unveils its 'Happiness Lab' creative space within its new London office in Blackfriars.
The brand is opening up the space free of charge to all HR, L&D and employee engagement professionals as well as partners and clients in a bid to help all businesses, especially SMEs, branch out of their familiar surroundings and spark real creativity that will build better teams.
"The environment that surrounds us plays a huge role in our mood and resulting actions. Having a stimulating creative space can help you focus and really uplifts the spirit. This does wonders for wellness and thus productivity," commented Saurav Chopra, CEO and Co-Founder of Perkbox.
Founded in 2015, Perkbox's mission is to help businesses of all sizes become happy, healthy, more desirable places in which to work through employee engagement and investment in emotional, physical and financial wellness. It has since grown to become one of the UK's leading voluntary benefits providers.
The brand partnered with independent designers to develop a creative space for events, team building sessions, workshops and brainstorms that would be both uplifting and capture the brand's identity, spirit and values. Working collectively, Perkbox conceived a visual language that reconciled the quirky and the contemporary with a distinctive homely feel.
The brand's iconic and optimistic blue-sky blue is incorporated throughout the space bringing a sense of the great outdoors in as well as striking an ambience of both vibrancy and calm. Upon entering the Happiness Lab, the eye instantly draws upon Perkbox's 'People Wall' - a floor-to-ceiling portrait montage of the each of the company's team members, cast with accents of the brand's hue of blue.
"The theory is that everyone in the company views the world through a Perkbox blue-sky lens. They are open-minded, optimistic and inspired to achieve their most ambitious goals in the business," commented Maddie Pozlevic, Perkbox's Engagement Manager.
Adjacent to the People Wall is an illuminated bar area and a mirrored wall that distorts the reflection of the rest of the room. "This is to encourage and remind people to look at situations, challenges and problems from a different angle and perspective, as you'll never know what you'll see!" continued Pozlevic.
A Registration Wall flanks the People Wall too; the idea here is that new visitors may leave their personal imprint on the space by marking out their height on the wall and signing their name and writing down the date in which they visited the Happiness Lab.
Both the People Wall and the Registration Wall embody Perkbox's people-centric business and values, honouring and showcasing every individual who has contributed to the company's unique work culture and continued success in promoting happy workplaces.
Eccentric trappings and furniture pieces including fake taxidermy, regal-esque portraits of Perkbox's founders portrayed as wild animals and patchwork Chesterfields add a colourful oddness to the space.
"I recently hired the Perkbox Happiness lab for a training workshop. It's a great space: bright, vibrant and really reflects the brand and culture. The environment also really goes that extra mile to keep people engaged but also helps ignite creativity and teamwork," commented Lynn Abhulimen, Anchor & Project Guru at inspireME, a company that specialises in people training, teambuilding and engagement programmes for businesses. "By providing this wonderful space free of charge to professionals and business committed to building happy teams, it has saved us time and money searching for venues in London, and is a fantastic perk."
Saurav Chopra continued: "We wanted to create a Happiness Lab that was fun and captured our very own brand of attitude and team spirit. Most importantly, we wanted to create a really social space that others can enjoy. We welcome Perkbox friends, HR and L&D professionals to make use of our Happiness Lab in order to dream up great things for the next generation of happy workplaces."
Perkbox's Happiness Lab is available for complimentary hire for team building sessions, workshops, brainstorms, events and conferences to all HR, L&D and employee engagement professionals as well as partners and friends of Perkbox. For more information and availability, please click on this link
