EmployBridge Creates New Role Focused on Improving Work and Personal Lives of Temporary Workers, Appoints Cathi Canfield as Vice President of Associate Experience and Advancement
ATLANTA, Sept. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EmployBridge today announced the appointment of Cathi Canfield to Vice President of Associate Experience and Advancement, a newly created role aimed at advancing the work and personal lives of the more than 400,000 temporary associates the company touches annually and the families they support. The new role is another milestone in the company's endeavor to remove common obstacles preventing a stable employment relationship between in-demand hourly workers and the supply chain employers reliant upon them to drive U.S. productivity. This includes investing in programs that solve challenges for hourly workers both on- and off-the-job, such as skill development, vocational training, apprenticeships, transportation, housing and language barriers.
"With record-low unemployment, securing talent in manufacturing, logistics, transportation and other supply-chain areas has become imperative for our customer base, making the readiness and availability of our workforce a top priority for EmployBridge," said EmployBridge Chief Marketing Officer Joanie Courtney. "Cathi has years of expertise in hiring and retaining large, high-producing workforces and in implementing programs that help overcome the challenges of today's work environment for both associates and their employers, making her an ideal person to lead this important initiative."
Canfield will lead a cross-functional team to ensure EmployBridge and its specialized staffing divisions provide the talent they serve with an unrivaled candidate experience, from a person's first contact with the organization to long after their first day on the job.
To drive loyalty among top talent and more accurately and efficiently connect them with open jobs, Canfield and her team will expand several key programs, including the company's Better WorkLife Academy aimed at upskilling/reskilling workers through free online training in partnership with Penn Foster. In addition, the company has designed several programs to connect its temporary workforce with valuable community resources and support programs, as well as real-time job openings via its proprietary career apps.
"As the nation's largest industrial staffing provider, helping workers achieve their career goals is paramount, yet we strongly believe their success extends beyond their time on-the-job," said Brian Devine, Senior Vice President, EmployBridge. "Improving the quality of associates' work and home lives is at the heart of creating a great place to work, where people are engaged, productive and thriving. We are thrilled to have Cathi leading this important initiative and believe that when we help working families succeed, we help American businesses succeed as well."
