Elks Answer the Call to Help During the COVID-19 Pandemic
CHICAGO, March 31, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The Elks National Foundation is making $3.7 million available so that Elks Lodges across the country may directly address community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds will be available on April 1.
The ENF will encourage Lodges to use the funds to support community organizations and local partners that are equipped to directly serve the most vulnerable populations affected by the crisis, such as food banks and food pantries, homeless shelters and assistance programs, and hospitals.
The mission of the ENF is to help Elks build stronger communities. The ENF fulfills this pledge by investing in the communities where Elks live and work. Since its inception in 1928, the ENF has contributed more than a half-billion dollars toward Elks charitable programs nationwide.
"We've been working together to build stronger communities, and that work will pay off now as we pick one another up and fight through this," said ENF Director Jim O'Kelley.
