ElectionDayTeaParty.com 'Cash-for-Candidates' Fundraising Drive Extended
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- ElectionDayTeaParty.com, today, announced the unique fundraising drive called Cash-for-Candidates has been extended. The program - originally slated to take place from Tuesday, October 12 at noon through Wednesday, midnight (36 hours) - has been met with overwhelming support from campaigns and activists.
"On average, the campaigns raised $10,000 - each - on the first day," said co-organizer, Lorie Medina.
"What people seem to be responding to is that there is no middleman like there is with every other online fundraiser with multiple candidates. People choose for themselves which candidates to support," said co-organizer, Mark Lloyd.
"Although this story is largely being ignored by the mainstream media, people are finding out about ElectionDayTeaParty.com. That means information about the site is being passed along from person to person via emails, personal blogs, and word-of-mouth," Ambassador John Bolton commented.
"People understand that in today's world, all politics are NOT local. It doesn't matter if a favorite candidate is next door or on the other side of the country - it is in their family's best interest to support these candidates with their time and contributions."
The all-volunteer Election Day Tea Party project was launched last month by the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, in partnership with former United States Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton. The project's website, ElectionDayTeaParty.com identifies the 50 contests for seats in the House of Representatives where an individual's efforts can help the challengers win their elections on November 2, 2010. The seats in all 50 of these races are currently held by members of Congress who have supported the Obama-Pelosi agenda.
Election Day Tea Party focuses on these 50 races in the House of Representatives because the project organizers believe that gaining the majority in the House is the beginning of the process of returning the country to the founding principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and constitutional adherence.
