"It is with great pride that EHE International unveils its 10th annual Red Dress photo and window display in an effort to raise awareness for heart disease in women," said Deborah McKeever, president of EHE International.
"One in three women die from heart disease. Heart disease continues to be the number one killer of women, claiming nearly eight times as many lives as breast cancer. Yet, most women do not know this fact and go without potentially life-saving cardiovascular tests that provide early detection. This is a trend we have to change."
Twenty-nine EHE International employees participated in this year's Red Dress photo shoot. Making a dramatic visual statement in the heart of New York, each lady is adorned in a beautiful red evening gown that symbolizes the importance of maintaining a healthy heart. All 29 women are official EHE ambassadors who understand their own personal risks for heart disease -- a chronic disease -- and the importance of annual examinations complemented by age- and health- appropriate screening tests and education. EHE is the only company in the United States to offer this comprehensive service to its staff.
The window display featuring the official 2013 EHE International Red Dress photograph and other National Wear Red Day features is located at 10 Rockefeller Center in New York City throughout the month of February. More than 100,000 people pass by the window each month.
Feb. 1 is designated as National Wear Red Day®. The day promotes wearing red as a symbol, and provides an opportunity for everyone to unite in a life-saving awareness movement by wearing red.
