Edwin Rombeek Joins Leading User Virtualisation Provider, AppSense, as Part of Ongoing European Expansion
LONDON, Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AppSense, the leading provider of user virtualisation technology, has recruited business development specialist Edwin Rombeek as sales manager as part of a significant expansion in the Benelux region. Rombeek, based in Arnhem, Netherlands, will be responsible primarily for user virtualisation and data centre solution sales and developing business opportunities with AppSense's strategic partners.
Commenting on his appointment Rombeek said: "User virtualisation dramatically changes the way organisations manage their desktop environment, enabling them to be more dynamic and agile as well as saving costs. It is a genuinely disruptive technology which can have a positive impact on the user experience of all knowledge workers. This is an exciting time to be part of AppSense, and expanding the company's operations into a key strategic European region is a welcome challenge."
AppSense announced record growth in 2010; with 1.5million licences sold during the calendar year, a 60 per cent increase in revenues and 43 per cent increase in headcount. Rombeek's recruitment is a result of this growth and recent investment into new EMEA locations, with the opening of new offices in Paris and Oslo.
Rombeek joins AppSense from EMC Computer Systems where he held positions as business development manager financial services and client solutions director, which will provide a solid grounding for his new position with AppSense.
Herman Leunen, territory manager, Benelux of AppSense, added: "We see Edwin's recruitment as pivotal to our plans in expanding AppSense. We are at a stage where our position as a user virtualisation provider is going from strength to strength, and we need the best team possible as we continue to drive the AppSense brand forward. "
Jo Verstappen, CEO of Open Line B.V, an AppSense partner, commented: "AppSense is dedicated to developing its channel programme by recruiting skilled team members like Rombeek and, as a key partner, we are confident AppSense will provide ongoing support and training. We are seeing huge interest around the user virtualisation space."
