CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Expanding their presence in a major Southeast hub, EDENS announces its purchase of Myers Park Center. This historic center, amongst Charlotte's most prestigious neighborhoods, has been a destination since A&P first opened there in 1938.
Today's center continues that community-focused tradition, anchored by a recently redeveloped two-level Harris Teeter. In total, it is a 75,075 square foot development that is a few miles from the Charlotte Business District, Uptown Charlotte, Levine Children's Hospital and Queens College.
"This center, and the land it sits on, was owned by the Huntington family for more than 100 years," says Lyle Darnall, Managing Director at EDENS. "We're proud of the legacy here. We plan to continue their good work, and bring our mission of enriching communities to the Myers Park neighborhood."
EDENS owns and operates several other shopping centers in the Charlotte area, including Park Road Shopping Center, Atherton Mill and Kenilworth Commons. Their focus on an uncommon merchandise mix creates an array of local, regional and national retail that gives shoppers many different reasons to visit. "The addition of Myers Park to our current Charlotte properties gives us, arguably, the finest retail portfolio in the central Charlotte market," says Darnall.
