DENVER, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- eDCSD: The Colorado Cyber School today announced a series of information sessions across the state of Colorado for families with students in grades K-12 who are interested in learning more about the 2010-2011 cyber school program.
"At eDCSD, we understand that not all students thrive in a traditional public school because not all students learn the same way. eDCSD uses cutting edge technology, high-quality curriculum and a dedicated group of certified teachers to offer a terrific online school option for students looking to reach their full potential," said Sohne Vanselus, Principal, eDCSD.
eDCSD information sessions are scheduled for 24 cities across Colorado between April – June. Each event runs 6-8 p.m. and admissions counselors will be available to answer parents' questions at each site. In April, eDCSD will host information sessions in the Fort Collins and Denver areas (Longmont, Thornton, Broomfield, Aurora, Lakewood, Englewood, Arvada and Brighton). Founded in 2008, eDCSD is a statewide K-12 cyber school program that is offered by Douglas County School District to any student who resides in Colorado at no cost to students and families. eDCSD uses Lincoln Interactive, the nation's leading online curriculum used by thousands of students across the country, which is a high-tech, high-touch comprehensive learning package that offers flexible, dynamic and adventurous learning opportunities for students. Every eDCSD student receives a custom-designed course of study to meet his or her individual needs and abilities. Parents, along with their child's teacher, play a vital role in the school by keeping the student on task, motivated, and challenged.
"Many families are very intrigued by the cyber school option for their children but want to learn more about the curriculum, the way students learn online on a day-to-day basis, the technical and instruction support systems in place, and the extracurricular and social opportunities sponsored by the school. That's why we are hosting these information sessions to answer families questions and explain how eDCSD and our tailored learning environments, may meet their families' needs," added Ms. Vanselus.
