SALT LAKE CITY, March 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The David Eccles School of Business's Full-Time MBA program jumped an incredible 22 spots in the most recent U.S. News & World Report rankings for best graduate schools.
The increase was fueled primarily by a significant increase in the number of students employed at graduation and those employed three months after graduation.
"This jump in rankings is a reflection of administration, students and faculty working together to make each element of our Full-Time MBA program better than it was yesterday. These efforts are paying off. Claiming the Adobe Analytics Challenge championship title, raising our percentage of female MBA students and partnering with our experiential learning opportunities such as the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute are just three of many initiatives that have resulted in this significant jump in rankings," said Stephanie Geisler, director of the Full-Time MBA Program. "We are excited to build on this momentum."
The percentage of graduates employed at graduation rose 32.6 percentage points, and the percentage of graduates employed three months after graduation jumped 11.2 percentage points. The employment numbers beat those of Berkeley, Rice, Stanford and the University of California at Los Angeles; the three-month employment rate of the Eccles School MBA also outperformed that of Brigham Young University.
"Our rankings are not only a strong indicator of how relevant our program courses are or the high level at which our staff and faculty prepare our students for an evolving business climate," said Brad Vierig, associate dean of MBA Programs & Executive Education at the Eccles School. "These rankings also show how effective our business school is at maximizing opportunities for our students and our alumni, and that outcome — their ultimate career success — is the most important value our programs offer.
