E2020 Math Courses Adopted by the State of Georgia; Meet Demands of Common Core Georgia Performance Standards
Online Curriculum Opens Students to Knowledge and Skills to Succeed in College, Careers
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- E2020 Inc., one of the fastest-growing providers of online curriculum, announced today that seven of its math courses were approved by the state of Georgia for the 2012 K-12 Mathematics Learning Resource/Textbook Adoption Process. The Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS) were implemented in 2010 by the Georgia State Board of Education as part of the Common Core State Standards initiative. This is the first adoption of mathematics resources under the standards. These standards provide a consistent framework to better prepare students for success in college and the 21st century workplace. The standards also provide educators with a clear and focused set of expectations against which they can assess student progress.
"Georgia has been progressive in considering the potential for technology to propel student achievement. With high-quality curriculum and embedded assessments, online learning has the unique ability to personalize instruction, which is critically important to improve the performance of students in the state," said Sari Factor, CEO of E2020 Inc.
E2020 Inc.'s Georgia core math courses run in a comprehensive online learning environment that uses state-of-the-art technology, including animations, simulations, exploratory activities, and videos to better engage students, and gives educators the ability to continuously monitor student progress. The e2020 online course curriculum underwent a rigorous approval process by the State Department of Education to ensure that the courses met and drove the kind of conceptual development and critical thinking required by the CCGPS. Approved e2020 offerings include:
