Dr. DiPatri served as Superintendent of the Brevard County, Florida school system for nine years before retiring in June 2009, and was recognized as Florida Superintendent of the Year in 2006. "I am excited about joining such a well-respected institution as Penn Foster Virtual High School, which has built a great reputation for its partnership approach to incorporating virtual schooling into public education," Dr. DiPatri stated. "Having spent my entire career as a teacher, principal, and administrator in public schools, I have seen the positive role that technology can play in improving student outcomes. While many virtual schools create an adversarial relationship with school districts by competing for students, Penn Foster wants to collaborate while always keeping in mind that the ultimate shared goal is creating the best educational opportunities for students. This 'partner' relationship is a truly innovative dynamic."
