Dr. Judy Miner, Chancellor at Foothill-De Anza Community College District, to be Keynote Speaker for Palo Alto University Graduation
PALO ALTO, Calif., June 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Palo Alto University (PAU) has announced that 2016's graduation ceremony for Bachelor and Master's Degree students will be held on June 18th at the Flint Center, De Anza College, Cupertino. Chancellor at Foothill-De Anza Community College District, Dr. Judy C. Miner will be the keynote speaker at the ceremony.
Dr. Miner took up her post as Chancellor in August of last year, becoming the district's 7th chancellor. Previously, she was a trustee at PAU and has always been dedicated to closing the gap in opportunity and achievement levels across all student populations.

Palo Alto University boasts an impressive 78% graduation rate in bachelor's degree programs with 91% of them successfully complete their course within two years.
PAU offers two undergraduate programs with online and hybrid options. A bachelor's degree program with future relevance in Psychology and Social Action at De Anza College was introduced in 2006, followed in 2008 by the innovative Business Psychology program at Foothill College.
- B.S. Business Psychology program prepares students for business careers where knowledge of human behavior, motivation and group processes are advantageous.
- B.S. Psychology and Social Action program opens the pathway to many career options in social service and graduate studies in clinical psychology.
These programs accept students who've completed their general education and allow them to complete a bachelor degree with guaranteed entry to classes, helping ensure timely completion in two years. In addition, tuition never increased from enrollment through graduation.
The ceremony will also commend Master's degree graduates. PAU provides two Master's programs in the social sciences; counseling, and psychology. The Counseling program prepares students to pursue a license as a therapist or counselor, with the opportunity to work in:
- Mental Health Organizations
- County Mental Health Agencies
- Counseling Centers
- Private Practice

Robert E. Kantor Medal
Named after Founding President of Palo Alto University, Dr. Robert Kantor, the medal is awarded annually to outstanding leaders who have led the way in terms of courage, vision, imagination and organization.
This year, Mr. Eric S. Yuan, CEO of Zoom, will be presented with the Kantor Medal for dedication to innovation and technology. His inventive work has focused on online conferencing and education to help ease learning and encourage student involvement. Mr. Yuan is also a named inventor on 11 issued and 20 pending patents in real time collaboration.
