Douglas Holtz-Eakin and Martin Wachs to Release Report on Transportation Investment, Jobs and Economic Growth
WASHINGTON, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Douglas Holtz-Eakin and Martin Wachs, members of the Bipartisan Policy Center's (BPC) National Transportation Policy Project, will release a new research paper on transportation investment, job creation and economic growth tomorrow, January 21, 2011, at a press conference in Washington, D.C.
The paper, Strengthening Connections Between Transportation Investments and Economic Growth, examines how well-targeted transportation investments can contribute to the nation's economic recovery, create short- and long-term jobs and improve America's competitiveness and productivity.
Dr. Holtz-Eakin is the president of the American Action Forum and former director of the Congressional Budget Office, and Wachs is a senior principal researcher at the RAND Corporation. Both will give remarks at the event and take questions from the audience.
