ASPEN, Colo., March 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 28th, Douglas Elliman Real Estate, the nation's fourth-largest residential real estate brokerage company, hosted the firm's world-class agents at its annual awards event – The Ellies. The event honored top performers in Aspen and Snowmass Village, and celebrated the massive growth in the Colorado residential market with sales volume up a record 140 percent. Nationwide, Douglas Elliman's total sales volume was $26.1 billion, up six percent.
The Colorado operation derived its biggest growth this year by recruiting several top agents, doubling market share since 2016, and benefiting from the Western Region's expansion with the acquisition of Teles Properties. Top sales in Colorado included 2800 W. Buttermilk Road for $29 million, 951 Red Mountain Road for $21.5 million and the $14.9 million sale of 803 E. Hyman Avenue, where Elliman handled both sides of the transaction.
"Douglas Elliman has flourished and grown in Colorado and we owe much of our success to our excellent agents for their incredible work," said Howard M. Lorber, chairman of Douglas Elliman Realty, LLC. "We expect our strong presence and brand to continue to grow in the region this year."
The Engel Lansburgh Team, based out of the 630 East Hyman Avenue office in Aspen was named the firm's Top Sales Team in Colorado. They were followed by The Rulon Kelly Team (#2), the Bass Wogan Team (#3), and The Guilander Farrell Team (#4).
Jill Shore, also based out of the 630 East Hyman office in Aspen, took home the award for Top Individual Agent in Colorado. Other winners included Gary Kelly (#2), Brittanie Rockhill (#3), Timothy Mooney (#4) and Bill Stirling (#5).
Mary Kate Farrell of the Snowmass Village office was named Rookie of the Year for Colorado. Riley Warwick of the 520 East Durant Avenue office in Aspen was given the Team Player Award for Elliman agents in Colorado, and Lauren Garrity was given the employee award for Team Player.
"We had a very strong year in Colorado, moving into second place in both market share and dollar volume in Aspen," said Stephen Kotler, Douglas Elliman's Chief Executive Officer of Brokerage, Western Region. "Our exciting news in 2017 in our Western Region was the acquisition of Teles, which added Boulder to our roster of offices in the state." Douglas Elliman now has a total of four Colorado offices with 58 sales associates.
Sales volume for Douglas Elliman was $26.1 billion in 2017, an uptick from the $24.6 billion in 2016, an increase of six percent. "We've enjoyed an incredibly successful year as a firm and much is due to our wonderfully talented agents and the tremendous amount of dedication and effort they continually put forth," said Scott Durkin, Douglas Elliman's President and Chief Operating Officer. "Douglas Elliman is poised for a spectacular 2018."
