"Don't Text And Drive" Thumbbands Sent to the Boston Red Sox
Medical ID Marketplace Asks Bobby Valentine to Please Drive Safely
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In the final days of one of the most painful seasons of his career, Red Sox Manager Bobby Valentine crashed his bicycle Tuesday at the bottom of a ditch next to the Central Park Reservoir.
Valentine was reading a text on his phone from Dustin Pedroia, the Red Sox second baseman, while riding his bicycle. When he looked up, he had to swerve to avoid the umbrellas of two French tourists walking in front of him. The bike skidded, and he lost his balance and went careening head over pedals down the side of the hill by the road.
In response, Medical ID Marketplace has sent the entire team "Don't Text and Drive" ThumBands that read "TXTING KILLS."
Medical ID Marketplace, manufacturer of medical ID products and supplier of Don't Text and Drive ThumBands, thought the Boston Red Sox could use some bands to remind Bobby Valentine of the dangers of texting and driving. The bands went out yesterday to Pedroia, who was on the receiving end of the texts. Hopefully the bands will remind Valentine to be a little safer next time.
