Don't Let Unchecked Growth Ruin Your Business, Says Brandon Frere
PETALUMA, Calif., Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Growing a business from the ground up is no small task. When a personally grown business really starts taking off, rampant levels of growth may seem ideal, but it could spell trouble later in the lifetime of the business. Brandon Frere, successful entrepreneur and strategic business planner, advises to fellow CEOs to be careful of unchecked growth and plan carefully for the long run of a business.
"Excessive and unchecked growth in a business is a type of cancer, not something to look forward to. If a business gets too large too quickly, it'll just wind up collapsing in on itself," said Frere.
Opening up new business locations left and right may seem like the dream because it might mean more opportunities. But oversaturating the market that doesn't have the demand in place to sustain a business' growth will inevitably mean closing down those recently opened locations, and making cutbacks in other areas, as well. Expending the capital to open those other sites might have easily covered itself had a profit been made, but stores aren't closed if there's a strong profit. Instead of opening several new locations at once, consider expanding services at current locations. It limits potential growth if expanding would be successful, yes, but it has a lower overall risk rate. Expanding services to a wide location at a currently successful business site also gives a business owner a chance to look over information gathered from customers to find where the highest demand is in a different area.
Healthy business development and growth isn't a simple stroke of luck. It takes a lot of planning and understanding of how businesses work to achieve a goal of having a thriving company. But taking the time to plan, and rolling with the trends that are happening as well as the misfortunes that will happen even with planning, is a much better way to help a business grow, rather than letting a business run rampant. "It takes the ability to strategize and roll with the punches in order to run a successful business," said Frere.
