Donating to Pennsylvania's Veterans Memorial is an Ideal Way to Pay Tribute to Those Who Served During the Memorial Day Holiday

ANNVILLE, Pa., May 26, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Memorial Day holiday is a yearly reminder that the Pennsylvania Veterans' Memorial located at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Lebanon County, stands in lasting tribute to those who served our state and nation in times of war and peace and it is the largest veteran's memorial located in any of the national cemeteries.

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) suggests that donating to the memorial's trust fund is an ideal way to pay tribute to those who have served our country, while also helping to preserve the iconic symbol that serves as a reminder of the personal sacrifices made for our freedom.

"People often ask how they can pay homage to the men and women who have served, done battle and died, and what is always front of mind for me is donating to the Pennsylvania Veterans' Memorial Trust Fund," said Brig. Gen. Tony Carrelli, Pennsylvania's adjutant general. "Donors can feel good that 100 percent of all donations are used to keep the memorial looking pristine and beautiful for future generations to visit and reflect on the sacrifices of the state's veterans."

General Carrelli said donations go toward routine care such as mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges, fixing lights and maintaining the fountains. He said funding is also needed for current priority projects such as replacing dying trees, repairing the amphitheater, and fixing cracks in the memorial's walls. 

Donations to the Pennsylvania Veterans' Memorial Trust Fund can be made online at www.donate.dmva.pa.gov or by sending a check made out to the "Pennsylvania Veterans' Memorial Trust Fund" and mail to: DMVA Office for Veterans Affairs, Bldg. 0-47, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA  17003-5002. Donations can be made "In Honor Of," "In Memory Of" or "On Behalf Of."
