Doc-To-Help 2013 v2 Features a New Responsive Output and Interactive Widgets
New Output Eliminates the need for Individual Deliverables for desktop, tablet, and phone use; Widgets add Meaningful Interactivity
PITTSBURGH, Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Doc-To-Help, a trusted name and award-winning product in the content authoring and publishing tool market, today announced the release of Doc-To-Help 2013 v2. In this second release of the year, Doc-To-Help debuts a new responsive output for the web that adapts to any screen size, and content widgets that provide extra interactivity and consistency.
"Our new Responsive NetHelp theme utilizes CSS media queries which automatically adapt to the screen size of the device on which it is being viewed," said Dan Beall, product manager at ComponentOne, a division of GrapeCity. "We were able to use our Wijmo technology to integrate elements that respond to screen size. This includes collapsing side panels, menus, reflowing tables, and more," said Beall.
In a sample provided by Doc-To-Help, http://showme.doctohelp.com/techcommguide/light/, Responsive NetHelp showcases a very modern theme that allows Doc-To-Help users to publish a single output that will adapt itself to the device the readers are using. "This new feature eliminates the need for technical communicators to manage individual deliverables for desktop, tablet, and phone use," said Beall.
Doc-To-Help's content editor has been enhanced by the addition of seven widgets in the 2013 v2 release. Beall explained that by using widgets a user may add interactivity, structure, and consistency to their web-based outputs. The only action required by the Doc-To-Help user is that they insert the widget, set some properties, and enter their content. Doc-To-Help's widgets include a Lightbox, Gallery, Carousel, Topic Contents, Code Highlighter, Tabs, and Note.
Beall shared that the company will begin a new webcast series to demonstrate how technical communicators can now build better online help with Doc-To-Help 2013 v2. "Our Responsive NetHelp and widgets are something no other tool provider on the market offers and we expect an overwhelming response to how we are revolutionizing the industry," said Beall.
