Do You Like Sloppy Kissing, Voyeurism and Leather? Now There's an App for That
Set your sexual likes, dislikes, favorite positions, fetishes and kinks - then BOINK iPhones to find your match
IRVINE, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- MEDL Mobile, Inc., the company that turns great ideas into great mobile apps is at it again - this time with an iPhone app on the Apple App Store for men and women looking to learn a little more about their prospective (or current) sexual partners.
BOINK allows users to create a profile based on their favorite sexual positions, kinks, likes, dislikes, and fetishes. Users exchange their profiles with a possible match by Boinking phones together. It works using the same technology as the wildly successful app BUMP. Only this time, the app doesn't share contact information. It compares the users' profiles to determine how hot (or cold) they'd be together in bed.
User preferences stay completely private. The app simply tells both parties how likely they are to enjoy a sexual hook-up. Messages range from an enthusiastic "Drop what you are doing and get to a hotel right now" to a cautionary "Turn and run away."
To celebrate the launch, the app will be FREE for the next two weeks.
"We think people are going to have a lot of fun with this one," said Dave Swartz, MEDL Mobile Co-Founder. "We've been Boinking around the office for weeks while we've been testing it. It's pretty eye-opening to find out who you are and aren't compatible with."
BOINK nearly didn't see the light of day. The app had to go through three rounds to pass through Apple's rigid approval process. That's partly because BOINK is filled with diagrams and descriptions of various sexual positions - many of which can't be named here.
"We had a bet going internally as to how many rounds it would take to get approved," continued Swartz. "We love the fact that Apple finally said yes. It shows they understand adults are using the iPhone in ways that are certainly mature but don't amount to pornography."
"There are dating sites where people can compare compatibility," said BOINK's creator, Jim Eshom, an LA-based actor and film director. "But none of them compare what people really care about - which is what the other person likes in bed. With BOINK, you can find out instantly if the person you're talking to in a bar is a steamy match or a horrible mismatch."
The app has a section for people to share their BOINK Tales with other users. And MEDL is even planning to sponsor BOINK nights at several nightclubs and bars in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
"The app is an incredible ice-breaker," added Eshom. "Even for people already in a relationship, it's a way to find out if both of you are into the same things, and the app sets the stage for real communication about sexual likes and dislikes. Some married couples may discover they are both into things they couldn't actually talk about ... like the Rusty Bike Pump."
